Frequently Asked Questions
What is Relationship Capital?
Relationship Capital is a private membership community for entrepreneurial families, family offices, and their ecosystem of advisors. We believe that even the strongest balance sheet can’t fix a broken conversation—so we create spaces for families to learn, play, build resilience, and cultivate the kinds of relationships that carry legacies forward.
Who can become a member?
Membership is open by application to:
Families in enterprise together (family businesses, family offices, and entrepreneurial families).
1 or more individuals of a family in enterprise — sometimes this group is not appropriate for all family members, whether due to age, competency, emotional maturity, etc. All individual members of a family must apply for acceptance based on their own merit.

What kinds of events and experiences are offered?
We host a mix of:
Educational workshops & salons (digital and in-person).
Experiential gatherings (from multigenerational retreats to themed soirées).
Innovation summits (cross-pollinating families, advisors, and entrepreneurs).
Immersive events (playful, creative, and designed for deep trust-building).
Conferences and workshops (for content best presented in a more traditional format)
What if I’m the only one in my family who wants to participate?
No problem! Though we talk about the entire family system, it’s not uncommon for participating families to start with only one interested family member. We also create events/gatherings/conversational frameworks that make it easy to invite/include other family members IF you’d like to do that.
What if other family members want to join? Do they have to apply, or can I just bring them?
While we are thrilled to see multiple family members join, we individually vet every applicant, regardless of whether they have a family member who is already a member.
What if I have a family member who is a RC member, but I’d prefer to not attend the same events with them? (or if I have other concerns about them being in the group?)
In every vetting process, we will ask each applicant if they have any other family members who are already members of Relationship Capital. In the intake process, we explore individual goals, and also ask whether there are any considerations about dynamics that we should incorporate into our event-guest-list selections. Each event has a custom-curated guest list for this very reason.
Please note: We keep emotional safety and exploration top of mind when building events and gatherings, and may keep certain family members/family configurations separate in order to foster maximum safety and authenticity. We always invite family members to reach out and update us on any considerations, requests, or concerns they may have.
Can advisors join, or is it only for families?
Advisors and ecosystem partners can apply for membership, although membership is not guaranteed. We believe in building bridges across the family enterprise ecosystem—and we carefully curate groups to balance families, advisors, and innovators.
Again, this is a ZERO-PITCHING/SELLING environment, designed for building non-transactional relationships. Advisors are held to even higher standards than others, and receive a separate orientation.
If I’m a member, do I get automatically invited to every event? Or do I qualify for every event/gathering?
Nope! Every event/gathering has a custom-curated guest list, specifically selected for maximum safety, authenticity, theme, appropriateness, and all the other variables necessary to guarantee a great vibe, great conversation, relevant content, and real community.
SOME events/gatherings are eligible for registration — people can apply if interested, and then we will curate cohorts/groups based on goodness of fit.
Bottomline: This means you won’t be invited/eligible for everything. But for the things you ARE invited to, you can know that they are curated specifically with YOU in mind!
What does it take to become a member?
In general, membership is evaluated based on the following criteria:
Goodness of fit with the current community (general vibe check and thematic appropriateness),
Personal goals
Emotional/relational safety (interpersonal skills, attitudes, and the ability to play nice with others, so to speak)
Timing and capacity
For various reasons, we may reject applications or waitlist applicants. Please see our Code of Conduct for participation and reasons for dismissal. That said — Even if you’re not accepted into membership at this time, you’ll still continue to have access to public workshops, courses, and events.
