This hands-on workshop teaches you how to see that system before it derails your engagement — and how to talk about it without overstepping your role. You'll work a single, richly detailed family case study across the entire day, building the same maps and tools I use inside live family engagements: genograms that surface who's really in the room, timelines that turn a family history into lived experience, and dynamic maps that expose the "round-and-round" pattern underneath a stuck decision.
This isn't lecture-and-slides. You'll diagram, map, and work in real time, leaving with a set of practical cheat sheets and a repeatable framework you can open the next time a case won't move.

Reconciliation is one of the most misunderstood processes in human relationships. Most of us were handed slogans instead of skills: forgive and forget, time heals all wounds, family is family. When those slogans fail — and they do fail — we're left believing that either we are broken or the relationship is beyond saving. Usually, neither is true. What's missing isn't willingness. It's a working understanding of how rupture and repair actually operate.
This webinar teaches the physics and gravity of reconciliation — not a checklist, but a framework for understanding what happened, what it did, what it will take to rebuild, and what "rebuilt" can realistically look like.

The Spectrum of Estrangement and Repair. An orientation to the framework — and an honest look at the common expectations and misconceptions that quietly sabotage reconciliation before it begins.
The Dimensions of Harm. Harm is not one thing. We'll examine intention and impact as independent dimensions, and distinguish between intentional harm/abuse, active harm, and accidental injury — because what happened determines what repair requires.
Response Patterns. What appropriate responses to harm actually look like (and why they're appropriate), where communication breaks down, and the mechanics of trust: what it's made of, how it ruptures, and why "just trust me again" doesn't work.
The Components of Repair. The spectrum of moving forward. The critical difference between forgiveness and repair — and the misconceptions that conflate them. What reconciliation actually requires. Justice, mercy, and forgiveness, and the distinct decisions each person must make. Adjusting expectations with compromise, grief, and maturity. And finally: what kind of ongoing relationship is genuinely possible to build in place of what currently exists.
Optional -- Implications for Christians. A closing segment examining how this framework interacts with faith commitments around forgiveness, mercy, and reconciliation — including where common religious "shoulds" help, and where they get misapplied in ways that re-injure people.

Session 1: Beyond Succession: Designing Multigenerational Resilience in the Digital Age: (Speaker: Savannah Suttle of Relationship Capital)
Technology has transformed the way people connect, bond, and build trust. For younger generations, identity, loyalty, and belonging are increasingly shaped in digital spaces — spaces that many older generations do not even know exist, much less understand. These younger generations are creating their own codes of culture and influence, untethered from geography, time, and place.
This makes it more important than ever for older generations to intentionally pass down the depth, values, and practices of the old ways — while also learning from the new. If families fail to balance in-person bonds and family systems with the digital architectures of connection, they risk fragmenting the family bond within just a few generations. Great wealth requires great leadership. Yet the true risk for successful families is not external — it is entitlement, disconnection, and unexamined authority within. In order to be effective stewards of relationship, wealth, or enterprise we must first be stewards of ourselves, our time, and our presence. In this session, Hans Phillips of Ontoco (highly sought after mentor to the ultra wealthy) will explore how family leaders can avoid these traps in subsequent generations by cultivating and modeling intentionality by design.
